This function works only with DPP 3.9. The raw settings buttons work only in the Edit Image Window. The tool palette must be in docking mode. If it is not the case go to “Tools” / “Preferences” / “Tool Palette” / “Tool Palette display in Edit Image Window” and choose “Docking display”
Start the Edit Image Window (select your images in the main window and then press Ctrl + right Arrow).
You can see now 13 new buttons at the bottom of the tool palette (see the pic below) :
The 5 LEFT buttons allow to save your current raw conversion settings in DPP++ memory. You can save up to 5 different set of raw settings. These settings are saved in DPP++ memory, not in the RAW file. Indeed Canon RAW files can save only 2 set of settings : 1 is the set used by the camera during the shot and another one defined when you use DPP. If you want to save the current set of settings in the RAW file use the floppy button. This will save the current set of settings in the RAW file and the previous saved set will be lost.
The 5 RIGHT buttons allow to restore the corresponding saved raw settings and to apply them to the current image. You can also use 2 extra buttons to restore either the last saved settings in the RAW file or the camera settings.
NOTE 1 : The custom picture styles are managed in a different way in DPP than standard ones. There is a technical problem to load them through a plugin program. So if you save with these buttons a set of raw settings where you use a custom picture style, it will be replaced by the standard picture style.
NOTE 2 : These buttons save only the parameters present in the raw tab. They don't save for the moment the parameters present in the RGB tab or NR/Lens/ALO tab.
You can use these buttons into 2 different ways :
You can save in DPP++ memory different sets of raw conversions settings and use them on the the same image to compare them in just one clic (clic on the corresponding RIGHT buttons and use arrow keys or mouse wheel to switch rapidely between saved raw settings).
You can save different sets of raw conversions settings and apply them rapidely to different images
Note that your saved raw settings in DPP++ memory are still available from one session to another.
